☆ Personality

Moke is described on his profile as "a genius mixed-race boy with an IQ of 168 and a well-known hacker". As the otaku of the VSINGER group, he's a homebody and likes to spend his free time either gaming or posting on online forums. He's so terminally online that those in the anime community consider him to be a god-like figure, given his smarts and gaming ability.

When Moke's voicebank was announced to be in development, a few more characterization bits were added to his official profile, including Moke's fear of loneliness. As the youngest and smartest group member, he wants to feel valued by and be relied on by the other members.

☆ Brief History

In 2011, a contest under the name VOCALOID CHINA PROJECT was held to determine the design of China’s first VOCALOID. Chinese VOCALOID fans could submit their own designs to be chosen by Shanghai Henian— the first place winner would become a VOCALOID while the runner ups would be their promotional companions.

A design for a boy named MOKO was chosen as a runner up design, and illustrator ideolo refined all the winning designs from the contest— with this redesign, Moke received his most iconic outfit piece; his hat. Promotion soon began for the first place design, Luo Tianyi, with Moke featured as a supporting character.

In late 2016, Moke and fellow VSINGER character Mo Qingxian were confirmed to be receiving VOCALOID voicebanks. They would both make their debut at VSINGER LIVE 2017 performing their respective demo songs. The two of them received redesigns for their VOCALOID4 voices by VSINGER’s key artist at the time, TID, who also designed the key artwork for Tianyi V4 and Tianyi V4 JP. Moke’s outfit became more detail heavy, with a sailor uniform and piano motif added.

Moke and Qingxian were the last releases for the VOCALOID4 engine in August 2018, as while preorders for their voices were still ongoing, YAMAHA unceremoniously released VOCALOID5 on July 12th.

Due to receiving his voicebank late into the VSINGER timeline, Moke is less popular than his counterparts. However, he does have a decent amount of popularity overseas. hi russian moke fans

Moke was conceptualized with a bird in his initial design by saku— the only winning design to have an animal companion. This bird also received a redesign by ideolo and became known as Fei.
